Wishing you safe, cold-free travels!

As my hometown (Ellsworth, Maine) is understandably not one of your stops, I’m looking forward to joining your virtual book launch party!

PS

I’d love to know what suitcase you use.

It's just a regular Eagle Creek roller bag--whatever the standard carryon size is. Nothing magical, but it is fairly lightweight--I have a rule that if I can't lift it over my head myself (fully packed), then it's too heavy.

Curious—I find "the bit at the end" to be my favorite part of most newsletters. (Thanks for yours!)

Wishing you good travel! I love that you drew a suitcase and a banana for us :) (I also second the banana tip). I am going to England next week for ten days and reeeeaaaaaly want to pack light b/c I always always overpack. This is inspiring me. If you're looking for sandal recommendations, the Reef variety feels like a cloud - so comfortable to walk in and super cute! Quince also makes really affordable classy linen and cashmere outfits and luggage. If you're ever near the Boston area I'll be there!

Do it! In fact, underpack. Worst case scenario, they have clothes in England (I've always wanted to try the backpacker's hack of buying clothes at a thrift store when you get there and dropping them at another thrift store before flying home, but that's a bit too much uncertainty for me!)

+1 for the under-packing tip especially if you like to thrift. I’m currently on a trip and packed juuuust right. It’s very satisfying to have enough, but not more.

Also wrote down the banana tip. Good life advice. Safe travels - may the chairs be full and the bananas widely available.

Eagle Harbor Books on Bainbridge Island needs a return visit from you on this tour! Anything Ed Smith Books could do to get this on your schedule?

1-Smartwool Merino Neck Gaiter for flights (hat, cover eyes, neck) or when it's a little chilly

2-I don't do purses. I'm about to spring for a ScottEVest ($$$). But geez, all those pockets are tempting me! Would love to hear what others think about them.

3-Sleepytime Throat Tamer tea - great for use after talking all day

4-Pacific Biologic, Self Defense herbal supplement - if there's a hint you're coming down with something. For my husband and I this has stopped a cold dead in its tracks many times.

5-Cold-EEZE to take immediately to lessen a cold's duration/effects if you progress to a cold

6-A protein bar or two for those hangry moments (Aloha is my favorite)

Love seeing/ reading others' packing lists :)

I would love to hear more about your travel art kit!

I try to pack light but tend to overpack.

Yoga mat and tea set are essentials,

As are as-many-snacks as possible,

Maybe even a traveling mini-altar!
