Somehow the only Anne Tyler book I’ve ever read was Accidental Tourist. My bad! Which one is next, for me? I’d love a recommendation. Thx for this compendium of enthusiasms!

I loved the movie version of the Accidental Tourist. It’s been a long time since I thought about it.

I would love to read the profile of Evie Riski but I don't see a link? Am I missing something? Thank you!

Dear Ami,

I recently started a Substack account. Your newsletter appeared in my email inbox. I found your artwork and narrative delightful and a real bouffée d'oxygène. My worldview has been severely mutilated by a (long) lifetime as a defender of nature's and human rights. As a coping mechanism, and to simply let off steam and have an inner laugh, I've taken to doing very crude, elementary cartoons using my computer mouse on the default Windows "paint" program. I've been doing message-driven video clips, in the gallows humor vane, for several years. My audience is zilch. It takes little imagination to divine why.

Clichés aside, your positive energy does me a world of good. Just in case you want to take a peek at my Substack (I advise you not to) here's the link: mischiefafloat.substack.com

Doesn’t a strong dose of art enliven even an overcast day?
