Art Lesson #44: Sketching in New Mexico

A quick landscape early in the morning

I filmed this back in February, when I was in New Mexico with a friend. This is a quick sketch using nothing but colored pencil and a few markers. I felt like I overworked the mountain, but when I look at it now, it doesn’t bother me.

A little lettering—even something as casual as this—can really jazz up a page. Here’s a post where we looked at how to do very easy lettering.

My supplies for this one were nothing but:

Stillman & Birn Zeta sketchbook

Caran d’Ache Luminance colored pencils

Tombow markers
