My favorite subject—travel art supplies!

I’m getting ready to leave for a trip, and as always, I have been re-thinking my art supplies, trying to keep my kit to a minimum, and taking too much anyway. Here’s what’s going in the bag:

An ArtToolKit pocket palette with Daniel Smith paints (The spiral sketchbook isn’t going with me, that’s just so you can see what colors I’m taking. Also, there’s a video below about those colors.)

Two Derwent waterbrushes, small and large, and a flat brush. I cannot find a flat travel brush that I like, so I finally decided to just take a regular brush. I’ll fold a piece of cardboard around the brush to keep it from getting mussed in my bag

Washcloth to wipe the brush

Travel size shampoo type bottle for water and a tiny mister to spritz the palette, both inside a ziplock in case they leak (although I walk around with them empty generally, to lighten my load a bit. You can always find water)
