Hey, so how’s your week going?
Everybody okay out there? Are you looking for a nice distraction, a chill little project that you can get lost in?
This is it. CLOTHES.
For some reason, I decided not to do the sped-up version this time. Instead I just drew and narrated this in real time, taking kind of a leisurely approach to experimenting with ways to make patterns and mix colors.
I didn’t rehearse this one ahead of time, so you’re really seeing how I draw when I just gather up some art supplies and give something a try. There were a few mishaps along the way, but that’s how it works, right?
I decided to draw one of my favorite fall shirts, this LL Bean flannel shirt with fleece lining that I wear pretty much constantly this time of year, including on trips to a local historic cemetery. Major fall vibes!
This kind of pattern is tricky to paint! Feel free to give it a try, or just listen to me muse about the nature of patterns and plaid shirts as I experiment and figure it out.
